Damari's Christmas gift was tickets to the Preview of "The Music Man" on Broadway. Unfortunately COVID hit the cast just before Christmas, so Sutton Foster and 6 others were out, but Hugh Jackman and the swings put on an outstanding show. Unfortunately Hugh Jackman was diagnosed with COVID the next day and the show shut down production for the remainder of 2021 (wow, were we lucky to get in to see it!). We beat the rain that night and visited some of our favorite spots including Times Square, Radio City, Rockafeller Center and the tree, and St. Patrick's Cathedral before seeing the show, with a quick dinner at the Brooklyn Diner on 57th.
Here's some holiday photos of Anthony at school, and Macy's award-winning ugly sweater for a work contest.
Let's just say that this gorgeous Christmas tree in Sam's apartment was tree #2, as the first didn't make it home...
Teddy doesn't leave Ed's side in our home office, and despite having 2 beds in there he still finds an old duffel bag to lay on instead.
An office view for Ed gives him this great view of Love Park and City Hall in Philly.
Third time's a charm - blessed to make a third trip to visit family in Puerto Rico this year. There's nothing better than winter in PR!
Another enjoyable holiday concert by the Pennsbury Community Choir, and of course, Damari, Anthony and Macy!
Here's Damari's school reading encouragement photo, and of course her selection to be included in was her favorite, West Side Story.
We celebrated Macy's birthday with a great Brazilian dinner!
We were able to have a beautiful family dinner and were blessed with the company of Joey, Hilda, Angelina, Lucas, and all the way from Sweden, Emma!
Ed with his brother Knights helped to distribute Thanksgiving meals at church. We were also awarded the Knights Family of the Month!
Damari, Anthony and Macy had the opportunity to perform together as they sung to honor our veterans with the Pennsbury Community Choir.
Damari's new role as Assistant Director for Pennsbury Drama has kept her busy, and she's loving it. This was one of their first shows this year, and it was great!
Another Halloween watching the kids and the costumes stop by for treats. Damari and Ed stood by in the driveway to greet everyone.
Ed was able to snap this photo as he joined Sam and Nic one night for dinner in Philly.
Ed was lucky to have a good friend give him a ticket to see the Giants in a home win at the Meadowlands - it's been a long time since seeing a game there.
Staff picture day at the high school...
Goodbye Yia Yia 😞 . Thank you for all the wonderful memories. We were blessed with your love for many years. We will miss you very much, but are so thankful for all the times we shared. Thank you for always being our sunshine. We will love you forever.
Nic's 1st day of his second year at Drexel, which is finally in person and not virtual. Awesome building and dorm room, and he's right in the heart of campus. And yes, this officially makes us empty nesters!
We were able to return to PR in September, and thanks to Nic's late school return date he was able to join us! More family fun and sun.
She might have been talked into this one at Outback - too big to finish!
Time for something new... work in progress.
Sam's first visit to the Renaissance Faire!
Quick pic of us as we celebrate our dear friend Alexis' accomplishments as she graduates from the nursing program at UDel!
We were blessed to have the opportunity to get away and spend some time down the shore with our good friends Janet and Alexis - so much fun!
Been hearing "I didn't think you were a Jeep guy", but yes, Ed has a new Jeep Gladiator. Damari is still getting used to her wind-blown hair, and the attention you get in a shiny blue Jeep. Gotta love the Jeep wave though...
This vehicle has many memories - family road trips and many Scouting adventures included!
Damari took the plunge, and the short haircut looked great!
Happy to spend the 4th with some friends!
We had the opportunity to visit family in Puerto Rico in June as the quarantine and restrictions were finally lifted. Loved our trip, and Sam and Nic were able to come along as their semesters ended just at the right time!
Great photo of Anthony and Macy as they get ready to enjoy the summer.
Ed and Nic becoming 76'ers fans and enjoyng some playoff games in Philly.
Anthony ended his teaching year with a special needs class and they gave him a great gift to remember them.
Nic and Danni attending the Pennsbury High School Prom 2021!
It was great to see Nic dancing once again with his friends at the Downstage Dance Studio at the Trenton Thunder Stadium - what a great show it was (as always)!
With just 9 days between the end of undergrad and graduate school, here's Sam back where she loves to be, but this time the lab is in the University of Pennsylvania (or more specifically, CHOP) as she begins the pursuit of her PhD.
Samantha Fallacaro graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in May with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences with College Honors and University Honors and Phi Beta Kappa. Next up, earning her PhD at UPenn. We celebrated with a virtual celebration with the Mellon School of Science and were happy to celebrate together at home. #CMUGrad21
Photos of Damari's Dad as he celebrated his 87th birthday!
Ed and Damari taking advantage of a mild night in May to walk the boardwalk in Atlantic City.
Damari working from home, enjoying the window view. If she could only do this every day!
Ed and Nic at the first post-bubble basketball game in Philly.
Anthony turns 25!
In March we said our final goodbye to a wonderful man. So special was he, and his family to us, that we knew without a doubt that when our youngest was born he would share his name and that Nick and his wife, Peggy Roussinos, would be his Godparents. Nick was a great guy, a family man, a caring, kind, welcoming person. You couldn’t help but like him. He loved to joke about Damari's cooking skills, which back then pretty much consisted of dialing up Gyro World. He’d be proud of how far she's come! Damari may have scared him way back when she and Mary-Lynn started studying Greek, because now maybe she could decipher when he was poking fun at her! — all in good fun. Our families spent lots of evenings together in our shared backyard. We loved how comfortable they felt to just walk in to our house anytime and us theirs. If anything we miss most from New York it was Nick and his family. This beautiful family taught us the meaning of family. We have always looked up to them, and always will. We are forever greatful for knowing such a true and authentic person, father, husband, friend and our adopted family patriarch. It is so true that with loss and grief we need to remember all the good shared with us and in turn share these good qualities with others. We hope we do him proud. May his soul find eternal peace. Love you Nick!
Here's the Pennsbury Community Choir's latest project, "My Spirit Sang All Day" by Gerald Finzi. Damari loves singing with his group!
Celebrated 3 birthdays (Eddie, Anthony and Samantha) while Sam was home from Pittsburgh for two days in March. Family photo - see Damari in the window reflection!
Damari participating in the PHS Polar Pop, a fundraiser for the Unified Track Team to ensure they can qualify to participate in the Special Olympics. It was a cold and windy day to get wet, but all for a great cause!
After fostering Jem for a few weeks Anthony and Macy knew they had to be with Jem and adopted her!
One year ago today (2/24) the cardiac care team (and superheroes) from Jefferson Health saved Ed’s life with a quadruple bypass. A necessary procedure, beyond comprehension considering how active he was hiking, biking and always on high scouting adventures. To say it was a tough year physically, mentally and emotionally, is an understatement. We had stumbles along the way, but found renewed strength and faith. We figured out what was important and were reminded to not sweat the small things. So we are all happy to celebrate this milestone!
Here's the customary first day of class photo for Samantha, although this one is somewhat different as it will be her last as an undergrad at Carnegie Mellon!
Samantha's new Etsy shop - if you know someone who is a Dungeons and Dragons player, these dice in her shop are handmade by her and a friend and would make a great gift!
Nic's off to a great start at Drexel!
Anthony got some great feedback as a result of his teaching efforts!
Hear is the virtual choir performance of "More Than Enough" by members of the Pennsbury Community Choir, Damari included!
